June 7, 2006 | SDSIC Managing Innovation Conference

Faster Execution with Lean Product Development

In this presentation, Mr. Ødegård will discuss how the Lean business methodology applies to product development, with particular emphasis on the software industry. Lean originated at Toyota, which is able to bring new vehicles to market 2-3 times faster than its competitors. As a result, companies like Ford and GM have been left in the dust. Mr. Ødegård will show how Lean provides software companies with similar competitive advantages. Using Lean, executives and employees alike can quickly pinpoint and resolve execution bottlenecks, locally as well as across a global software supply chain. Mr. Ødegård will also discuss how software executives can use Lean to institute a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
