February 9, 2006 | AeA Product Development Roundtable Lean Product Development for Small Organizations An increasing number of American corporations are now learning about and applying Lean strategies in product development, including Motorola, HP, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin. But what about smaller organizations? By popular demand, in this session we will discuss how the principles and practices of Lean Product Development can be applied in smaller high-tech companies. In most organizations, product development becomes increasingly administration-centric as scale and complexity grows. In contrast, the premise of Lean Product Development is that product development should be treated as an integrated system focused on knowledge creation and reuse. Organizations, product architectures, and product development processes should be designed to leverage each other. Above all, the focus must be on facilitating individual and organizational learning. The result: more customer value with dramatic reductions in time to market, costs, and defects. You will learn about:
